Nagpur: A Std XII commerce student hanged himself to death at his residence at Rana Pratap Nagar on Sunday evening. The deceased, Nikitesh Chauragade, had recently appeared for HSC examination. According to Nikitesh’s parents, he was bright student and was expecting to score around 80% in the board examination. The family members also told police that Nikitesh was not under any pressure and would discuss every problem with the family.
Police did not find any suicide note from the residence.
Nikitesh’s father Surendra is employed with a private firm while his mother Sandhya is a homemaker. His younger brother Abhishek studies in Std X.
According to the family, on Sunday Nikitesh had a good discussion with his father about the scores he was expecting in the examination. The father-son duo also talked about a cricket match that was being played between Australia and South Africa. Later, Surendra left for his night duty while Nikitesh watched television. It is suspected that he hanged himself in the kitchen when his her mother was chatting with her neighbour while his Abhishek was in his room.
The suicide came to light when Abhishek later went to the kitchen for some work and saw his brother hanging to the ceiling hook. Nikitesh was rushed to nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Rana Pratap Nagar police said before deciding to end his life, Chauragde had sent a text message to his female friend stating that another female friend of his had blocked him from the group of a social networking site. Cops suspect some problem with friends might have prompted Chauragde to end his life. A case of an accidental death has been registered.
